Jyotika Sehgal
Prof. Dr. Jyotika Sehgal is a painter-writer, formerly HOD, Dept. of Painting, College of Art, Delhi, India, now based in Berlin, Germany. Her PhD thesis An inquiry into the ‘lingual to visual’ translation process as a form of trans-disciplinary and trans-cultural mediation was based on practice-based researched in England and India.
In India, Jyotika is a recipient of Sahitya Kala Parishad, Yuva Mahotsav Award, the National Cultural Scholarship, Charles Wallace India Trust Award to England from the British Council, and the National Academy Award in Painting by Lalit Kala Akademi.
Jyotika mainly paints in Oils and Egg-Tempera and has presented her artworks in New Delhi, India; Berlin, Germany; and Wolfson College, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
